LED Light Therapy Facial Contraindications

Before any LED Light Therapy Facial with us, it is very important that you make yourself familiar with the below contraindications to ensure that this treatment is still suitable for you. 

The LED Light Therapy facial works by combining an effective ultrasonic sound wave massage with daily facial skin care products at the time of application. This unique ultrasound and vibration massage help ensure skin products penetrate deep into the cellular levels to give the skin a plump and hydrated texture.

As with any skin therapy, there are some contraindications that apply to this treatment.

Conditions where treatment is contraindicated:

• Cancer

• Acute infectious disease, fever or nausea

• Dysfunction or disorder of the nervous system

• Inflammatory disease

• Pregnancy

• Epilepsy

• High/Low blood pressure or Heart condition (Ion+, Ion - setting should not be used)

• Pacemaker

• Haemophilia

• Skin conditions

• Any photosensitive disorder

• Taking medication that could cause photosensitivity

Local contraindications:

• Active eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area

• Skin infections

• Lack of skin sensitivity, which may be caused by damage to or pressure on nerves

• Cuts, abrasions or scar tissue in the treatment area

• Metal pins or plates around the head.

• Excessive tooth fillings

• Hypersensitive skin e.g. active rosacea, dermatitis etc

• Low blood pressure

• Highly vascular skin
